Lost in Valhalla – How It All StartedOn June 13, 2018 by Vlad2 min read
Skol! That’s Viking for ‘hi’, but I think it has a little bit more… oomph! What I mean is: Welcome to our blog – Lost in Valhalla!
Let’s get over the introductions first: my name is Vlad, my girlfriend’s name is Greti and together we’re the proud owners of the Lost in Valhalla Homestead.
We’re both young millennials and stuck in the ‘9 to 5’ loop that is virtually driving our generation crazy. We realised we’re fed up with the city life – the busy streets, the non-stop car noise and sirens, we wanted a change.
We wanted to get away from the city so we started searching for land and houses on the outskirts of our city. On December 27th we found our small corner of heaven at a good price and with more amenities that we hoped for.
We put our savings together, we got a small mortgage and we bought the house and land. We’re hoping to turn it into a nice homestead, although I understand the definition for that is a bit shabby.
This property was like heaven for us, that’s why we thought of the name Valhalla. But this is just the beginning of our journey, I’ll tell you more as we go along.
That being said, we invite you to follow us on whatever social media platform you like best and that way you can stay up to date with our story.
Here’s a video we shot the first day after we got the keys to the estate:

Hello and welcome!
We (Vlad & Greti) are building a home on a homestead in a rural area of Romania in Western Europe and sharing our story as two passionate gardeners who ditched the city for a simpler, better life.
